In the Spotlight: Zarafa Camp, Botswana
With elephants strolling around your 100 square meter ‘marquis style’ canvas tent while you’re enjoying your strawberry daiquiri in the copper plated tub, Zarafa Camp is not just your ordinary safari accommodation.
Located in the Selinda Reserve, Botswana, Zarafa Camp stands for exclusivity and perfection. Each tent is positioned on the forest's edge, rimming the shores of the floodplains. The tents are expansive and open-air and decorated with custom-made furniture, handcrafted from recycled ancient hardwoods.
The camp was thoughtfully planned to be as environmentally sensitive as possible, therefore Zarafa Camp is among the only luxury camps in the world to be powered entirely by solar energy.
That’s exactly where Evening Breeze comes in: with temperatures up to 35oC and high relative humidity it’s key to be able to provide guests with some sort of active cooling, especially during the night. Keeping the open-air style of the resort in mind and reducing energy consumption to the minimum Evening Breeze was installed in all 4 tents, enabling the guests to enjoy their well-deserved sleep in quiet comfort and with a clear eco-conscience!
Zarafa Camp was one of our first clients to benefit from our recent collaboration with Kiwinet, which resulted in this seamless integration with the elegant bespoke Kiwinet mosquito nets, ensuring the sleepers of a cool and bug-free sleeping experience.

Let's Sleep Together
According to a survey in America by the National Sleep Foundation nearly one in four American couples sleep in separate bedrooms or beds. You may think this is something typical for Americans, living in big houses with rooms for everything (the game-room, the tv-room, the guest-room, the family-room, etc.) but recent studies in England and Japan confirm this trend. The National Association of Home Builders even expects 60 percent of custom homes in America to have dual master bedrooms by 2015.
Paul C. Rosenblatt, a psychiatry professor at the University of Minnesota, wrote the book “Two in a Bed: The Social System of Couple Bed Sharing” and concluded that sleeping together with your partner has some surprising benefits.

Villa Azura featured in REALLIFE Magazine
The Caribbean magazine REALLIFE features an article about Villa Azura in Antigua. Here's what they say about the Evening Breeze systems:
"[...] ensuite bedrooms feature eco- and energy-friendly Evening Breeze air-conditioned canopy beds cleverly designed to create cool zones over sleeping areas. Topped with bright African kangas, the innovative beds allows louvres to remain open to the elements, enabling peaceful nights of slumber accompanied only by rolling waves and rustling palm fronds."
